It is time to celebrate all the Dads out there! Whether it is your father, grandfather, step-father, uncle, or just a special guy in your life that deserves to be honored take the day to enjoy the beautiful weather and show some appreciation for him. There are endless ways to celebrate Father’s Day, for all the types of Dads out there. The key is knowing what kind of fun your special guy will enjoy. Here are three ideas of ways to spend Father’s Day on the Northshore!

Free Fishing Day,

Massachusetts, June16th, and 17th

Did you know that every state has various Free Fishing Days throughout the year? This means that you can fish without a permit in public waters! In Massachusetts, we have a Free Fishing weekend over Father’s Day Weekend for any saltwater fishing. Pack a cooler, and a tackle box and take your dad to your favorite beach, pier, or boat for a day at sea. You might even catch yourself dinner!

Father’s Day Bluegrass Bash at the Stevens-Coolidge Place

North Andover, MA June 17th, 4-7pm

Father’s Day is the perfect day for a BBQ, especially if someone else is hosting it! The Stevens-Coolidge Place is a stunning museum, and garden that is hosting a BBQ this Sunday celebrating Dads. Enjoy lawn games, a Bluegrass Band, a cold brew from the Ipswich Ale Beer Truck, dinner from the Bedlam Farms BBQ company, and pastries from Kim Gregory|Pure Pastry. The Railroad House Bluegrass Band starts at 5pm! Find event information here.

Throwback Brewery Father’s Day Out

Northhampton, NH June 17th 12-7pm

Enjoy creative farm-fresh cuisine, local beer, and games at the Throwback Brewery’s Father’s Day Out.  Feel like you are part of a German beer festival with competitions for Dads who wish to compete. Throwback Brewery is the perfect place to spend the day outside, and is close enough for an evening beach ride! If your Dad loves good local food, and beer this is the place to be. Make sure to reserve your ticket!

Hopefully you find some of these suggestions helpful, and if not find your own way to celebrate! Homemade cards are always a hit, and some Dads just want their families to put the phones and computers away for the day for some good quality time. No matter what you end up doing for Father’s Day be sure to have fun and be safe!
