Finding The Holiday Spirit in Local Light Displays – By Krisanne Butler

The Holiday Season is in full swing and that means shopping, wrapping, holiday parties, rushing and stressing. It’s important to find time to enjoy the holidays and our friends and family. One great way to get into the Holiday Spirit and spend some time with the family is to get out and enjoy some local light displays.

Here are just a few worth mentioning in the Ipswich/Newburyport/Amesbury area.

331 Linebrook Road in Ipswich offers a spectacular display of lights, singing animatronics and adorable scenes to enjoy as you drive down this driveway and enter a magical wonderland.

If you are looking for something a little different, head over to Riverrun Farm at 540 Main Street in West Newbury. As you pull down the long driveway you will quickly realize this isn’t your traditional Christmas Light Show… You’ll want to tune your car radio to 90.5 and watch as the laser lights move to the music and put on quite a show!

The next stop on the Holiday Light tour is in Newburyport on Rawson Hill Road. This is a much more traditional light display with a modern musical twist. As you pull on to the street make sure you tune your radio to 106.9 and watch as the lights dance along with some of your favorite Christmas songs!

6 Old County Road in Amesbury puts on a light show from 7–7:30pm every night until Christmas. You can watch Santa as he sits on the front porch and takes in all the twinkling lights as they dance to some Christmas classics. A nice holiday touch to this display is the Toys For Tots donation bin on the front walkway. If you would like to make a donation just bring an unwrapped toy with you and they will do the rest.

Another spot on the North Shore definitely worth mentioning and the drive is 3-5 Arthur Street in Danvers. Not only are these houses all decked out for the holidays but they don’t stop there… the sidewalks are also decked and if that isn’t enough they sell Hot Cocoa and Cookies to enjoy! Located just minutes from the Liberty Tree Mall this neighborhood goes all out to bring holiday cheer to the community!

Whether you load the car and make a night of visiting all of these festive homes or you choose just one, we hope the Holiday Spirit has found its way into your home and that you are taking time to enjoy the true meaning of the Holidays!
